“Securing the Bag” 🌻🌻🌻
Initially this painting was going to strictly be about my grandparents’ work in the UFW and their own field stories. They are the baseline influence, but as I continued making it, it grew into a painting about the last shreds of hope I have left for the future. Poc farming, being happy, being free, getting all the good things we want and deserve, equity (ps everyone in the painting is gay and trans because we exist in the future and we’re happy)💛 I am proud to say it is part of an art show called “LATINIDADES” featuring Latinx artists in the PDX metro area, opening August 2nd @hispanic_chamber and in collaboration with @raccpdx and the lovely curators of @unagallerypdx 💛More info to come!
